Come winter and the Big Indian Wedding season begins. It brings in fun and excitement along with the worry of what to wear and when to wear. No wedding usually ends in a day, for Indian weddings it is all about the food, dance and the big family reunion. Hence, to include everything and literally everyone in the wedding festivities, it usually goes on for about 2-3 days which include 3-4 functions. Now that means you need clothes! Clothes that are not worn before because you cannot repeat them! Also, clothes that are stylish look fashionable and fit you perfectly.
How about wearing a jacket to the wedding?
Give it a thought. A jacket will not only keep you safe from the chilly winter winds, but will also make you look stunning at the marriage. Ethnic jackets are preferred by a lot of ladies out there, who want to look different and elegant. There are various options and colors available for you to choose from. We all have seen ethnic jackets on the ramp as well as on Sonam Kapoor. You can style them in different ways depending on your outfit for the event.
If you are wearing a lehenga with minimal work or embroidery on it, then a long jacket which ends below your knees will go perfectly well. The lehenga could be minimalist and the attention should be on the jacket. This long jacket will ensure that the top is not visible. Hence, only the lehenga and the jacket should be paired. Choose a contrast color of the jacket so that it stands apart from the lehenga.
Who says black cannot be worn to a wedding? This beautiful jacket seeks attention and is stunning. Paired on a plain black skirt, the woven jacket will make you stand apart from the crowd. Pair it with a beautiful clutch and stilettoes and you are all set to rock the party.
Another black knee length jacket paired with a black bottom. This is a raw silk jacket with floral work on it. It can easily be paired with a contrast dhoti or a flared bottom. The jacket will also go well with a red bottom.
A personal favorite, this jacket is elegantly styled with perfect stilettoes as well as simple black bottoms. The cut at the front emphasizes the fit of the jacket. It can be paired with a pair of black leggings or even full length socks to go with the same. The jacket is perfectly stitched to emphasize the waist and it flows swiftly to the bottom. This is a must have in your wardrobe!
If you are not open to the idea of a full length jacket dominating your look, you can team up a kurta or an anarkali with a waist length jacket in a contrast color with your outfit. Floral printed jackets are in and they basically go with everything. Make sure they fit perfectly.
As mentioned earlier, Sonam Kapoor is seen wearing this beautiful jacket over a maxi dress. Similarly the jacket can be worn over an anarkali or a lehenga.
Take your pick and stock up your wedding wardrobe with one of these beautiful pieces.
