The story of this collaboration begins with Astha Modi of Blabber Cat Official (a blog based in Kolkata) messaging me one random morning. She said she would be  in Ahmedabad a couple of weeks from now and that we should do coffee. She said I should try the Kolkata saree. If you’ve been reading my blog for sometime you know saree isn’t my go to outfit most times. Infact, I try to avoid it as much as I can. But, she insisted and I finally relented. We decided to do a Gujju-Bong theme and she is sportingly wearing a chaniya-choli with me in the shoot.

She brought this beautiful saree and bangles for me and gave me tips on how traditionally Bengali women style it. With a blouse, big red bindi (we improvised using a red lipstick!) and big sunglasses. She also taught me to hold the pallu with swag ;). I was imagining Aishwarya Rai of Devdas all the time :).

Ofcourse, I had to break some rules like always. So, I decided to style to saree with my gym gear (gym pants and sports bra) and gave the blouse and petticoat a total miss. Also, instead of heels or chappals I wore sandal-shoes!
