Winter Accessories Part 2

By Priyanka Bose (Guest Blogger)

I have to confess, I am not a winter person. Whenever writers and poets have romanticized this season, it never cut ice with me. I was of the firm belief that winters translates into fashion taking a backseat. My belief used to be reaffirmed when I used to go for movies and hardly ever saw  Bollywood heroines flaunting winter wardrobe on screen. And watching Yash Chopra heroines serenading the hero in their flimsy chiffon sarees perched on top of the Swiss Alps, used to send several chilly shivers down my spine!

However, all that is a thing of the past now. The market is flooded with a number of accessories to turn your wardrobe from drab to fab in the winters. In addition to Bhavna’s recommendations to accessorize during the winters, here are a few more options to set the temperatures soaring in the cold:

Headbands/ Headwraps:

Hair accessories are a rage. So why shy away from the same in winters?! If you are not a big fan of woollen caps, this is a stylish alternative since these woollen headbands/headwraps are wide enough to keep your ears warm. Step up the style quotient by choosing  from various designs!

Neck Warmers:

A chic alternative to regular scarves, neck warmer is another option to spruce up your outfit. Whether peeking from under your coat or over a regular cardigan, these neck warmers add an interesting dimension to your look. Choose a colour in contrast to the coat/ cardigan and step out in style.

Woollen Crop Tops

Crop tops have ruled the fashion roost since last summer. But why restrict them to summers. Ok, I know you wouldn’t want to expose your mid riff to icy cold winds, but that’s when the golden rule of layering comes in handy.

Layer your woollen crop tops over a woollen dress or cardigan. See how PC has done it here:;

Sweater dress

A must have in your wardrobe for the winters. Sweater dresses are versatile and allow you to add your own touch to the dress. Pair it with a stylish beret cap, boots or leggings and make heads turn! Sonam Kapoor is turning the heat on with her sweater dress here:
