Introduction by Juhi Bansal

I was recently invited to NIFT, Gandhinagar for an interaction with the students on Fashion Journalism and Blogging. At the end of the session I gave them an assignment. They were to group themselves in fours or fives and create a look with a theme ( given to them by me). The challenge was that they had roughly 15 mins to style the look, take pics and come back. The bigger challenge was that they had to retain atleast 2 items from whatever they were already wearing.

Some looks that I asked them to create were:

Goth Evening

Concert Casual

Quirky Workwear etc

While everyone made a tremendous effort and came up with amazing styling ideas, I decided to feature this particular group on the blog. As you see the pictures you will know why.

Over to Rutu Parmar, Sakshi Saxena, Vaishnavi Shukla and Ankita Anand:

From sophisticated pencil skirts to casual denim pants, work wear has come a long way and it can get no better without this cotton shirt tied on the back. Ever wondered what will set you apart from your cookie-cutter colleagues in the future? It’ll definitely be this Khakhee green midi paired up with a back-buttoned striped shirt and not to miss the quilled honey bee DIY earrings. DIYs have turned out to be the basic quirk factor in a style and so be it the warm colored earrings or a bright bow-tie; go DIY! No more boredom in the boardroom now just perks of quirks. The best of quirk is experienced when you come across the red bow-tie in the look. After all to pass 2106 hours a year at work, quirks are all that support your formal closet. So get up and grab a twist in the taste by adding the red sling bag to your look and all the time work wear classics-black heels. Your ootd cannot go wrong if you hold that quirky chic attitude as another accessory. So let those big peppy colored bangles flaunt your look just the way your crimson/red lips will. So, now no fringy hair that’ll bother you while you flip through a PowerPoint presentation and no big spectacles to make you feel like a nerd, just a braid in your short hair to get comfy and you’re ready to cut the stereotype laid out there.
