So continuing our take on the latest fashion week, Day-4 and Day-5 were no less. The designs were magnificent, the aura was vibrant and the audience was captivated. Take a look.

Day- 4

Ashish N Soni

Ashish’s collection was monochromically splendid. The exaggerated and oversize cuts were inspired from 70s, 80s and the 90s fashion. The voluminous hairstyles overtook the silhouettes though.

Shantanu and Nikhil

The duo’s collection was a tribute to the freedom fighters and was actually inspired by the warriors. It had a very strong and powerful military aesthetic.

The Label by Ritu Kumar

Well!! the wonderful designer’s collection this festive season was quite sporty though not athletic. She blended streetwear staples with Indian textiles adding western sensibilities.

Aaylixir

The sleek silhouettes and colour-blocked separates were mesmerising. The collection looked perfectly feminine with its detailed sequin work. The highlight of the collection was sequin work on denim couture.

Payal Khandwala

Payal’s fitting collection was meant for the aggressively modern bride of today. The full lehengas and the powerful suits carried metallic accents on the ramp.

The brocade was used with no effort. She replaced dupatta with her stamp capes.

Ekam

Ekam presented a Japanese collection. It depicted the trademark Kimonos and bright and vibrant red sun related to the country.

Day- 5

Sabyasachi

His collection was sequined with handwork embroidery and fur on velvet slip designs, shift dresses and kaftans. The men’s collection looked exalted with the majestic floral motifs.

But what Ii liked the most in his collection was the would be mommy Bebo walking the ramp.

Sanjukta Dutta, Sumona Parekh, Architha Narayanam and Saroj Jalan

Sanjukta’s collection was a commixture of colourful silken threads of Assam and motifs from the South. She draped the saris in different ways which looked extraordinary.

Motifs were the hero of Sumon’a Parekh’s collection.

Architha’s showstopper asymmetrical gown was nice but didn’t show us anything new.

Saroj Jalan’s collection was an inspiration from Amir Khusro’s beautiful poem. Zardozi, tussar silk, velvet and everything else added beauty to the fancy dresses.

SVA by Sonam and Paras Modi

The collection had notes of ancestral art and looked august. The best part was the showstopper Prachi Desai’s blouse with mingled cape.

Anushree Reddy

The “Wedding Chronicle” collection was inspired from the modern day girl. It redefined and embraced glamour with a stylish twist. The collection had hues of fiery red, pink, tangerine and yellow with detailed motifs.

So, this fashion week was all about experiments, new looks and awe-inspiring fashion.
